ROBERT STEPHENS: VP Business
Development
Robert Stephens represents DMC as our Vice President of
Business Development.
With over two decades of military and commercial
experience he is aptly suited for this role.
He is personally responsible for the execution of
DMC’s strategic framework and drives the network of
professionals which comprise our world class business
development team.
In this capacity he has developed some of our most
significant clients throughout the world including PWC,
Kuwait Gulflink, KBR, and many others.
Prior to coming onboard as DMC’s head of business
development Mr. Stephens served as the head of Government
Contracts for KGL Transportation Company in Kuwait.
In this capacity, Mr. Stephens managed government
contracts as well as corporate agreements many of which were
in direct support of the US Military’s LOGCAP III contract.
Mr. Stephens also
served as the contract compliance advisor to the Vice
Chairman with regard to the FAR and DFAR issues.
Additionally, Mr. Stephens managed the Military
Business Development department from proposal formulation
through negotiation and award, to mobilization and contract
compliance – remaining actively engaged with his clients
even during the execution phase of the work he secured.
Mr.
Stephens is qualified by 21 years in business, government
and military affairs.
A former Combat Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army,
Mr. Stephens has also worked for Mercedes–Benz, General
Motors, the Air Transport Association of America, and the
State of West Virginia in a variety of administrative,
leadership, management and business development positions.
Mr.
Stephens received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science,
and Bachelor of Science in Economics concurrently at West
Virginia State University, and Master of Business
Administration, Darden School of Business, The University of
Virginia.
Additional professional development coursework was
performed, at Duke University, West Virginia University, and
George Washington University. Regionally, Mr. Stephens
has participated as a roundtable speaker on Transportation
Modes to Facilitate Iraqi Trade with Jordan and the Region
at the American Jordanian Expo (AJEX) 2004.
